How to Ceilidh
Date: Tuesday 20 June Time: 8:45am - 1:00pm Ibstock Cookery School Get your gastronomical creative juices flowing with our outdoor cookery school. Over the course of the day you will hone your cookery skills by creating your own barbecued lunch or tea under the expert tutelage of our esteemed Executive Chef. You will then enter the prestigious Ibstock Bake-Off Tent to create your signature baked goods for entry into The Great Ibstock Bake-Off Competition. The iconic white tent is coming to Ibstock Place! Dust off your aprons, grab your wooden spoons, and set your oven timers: it’s time to prove your baking prowess. In teams, you’ll compete to make the best showstopper, the winners of which will be crowned Bake-Off champions. The Great Ibstock Bake-Off

Grab your kilt and your partner, a ceilidh is reeling its way to Ibstock! You will need to practice your dosey-does and barn dances for this activity. This two-hour tutorial will have you spinning around and learning traditional Scottish country dancing. All you need is enthusiasm and the ability to count to 8! So, put on your dancing shoes and “gie it laldy!”
Get ready for a display of elite athleticism! How are your skills at the three-legged race, the dressing up race, the sack race and many others? We will even have a variant on the ever-popular dodgeball. If it is fun, we will do it. You will be in a team competing, cheering and chanting. All you need to bring is energy.
Build your own Barbecue
Games Afternoon Date: Monday 19 June Time: 2:00pm - 4:00pm Your usual games afternoon will take place on Monday.
HPQ Masterclass
Summer is upon us! The season of the Great British Barbecue doesn’t have to be a sorry tale of charred bangers and raw-in-the-middle chicken. Finessing your barbecuing skills under the expert eye of our own Executive Chef, Mr Josh Stevens. Choose from a menu of 28-day-matured beef, halloumi, prawns and other mouth-watering ingredients to fashion your own two-course meal and then cook it to perfection on our barbecues. All tastes and requirements catered for!

Pupils who have elected to take the HPQwill have a special two-hour workshop designed to help them as they prepare to embark on their research journey. Things which will be covered during the workshop include designing an effective project plan and recording progress effectively on a Production Log.
Bunting, gingham altar, and the judges’ steely gaze all included… Let’s just hope there’ are no soggy bottoms.
