But what makes portraiture so fascinating is its ability to portray not only the physical aspects but also the inner characteristics of a person. Therefore, many people find portraits captivating; they not only tell us something about the subject but can also tell us how that subject wanted to be depicted, or how the artist wanted to portray them.
