SPORTS STATS ROUND-UP… Outstanding individuals

In a thrilling U15A cricket fixture at Sudbury Hill against John Lyon School, Arin Gramopadhye retired on 72 not out and Andrew Kirkhope made a fiery 38, to help set a target of 148 in a valliantly fought match. Jamie Collins, S9 took 3-12 in a rollercoaster match against St James’ School in which Josh O’Connell finally managed to get IPS over the line, after a batting collapse, and win Man of the Match award. Toby Wallace made an unbeaten 50 against KCS in the U12A’s season opener.

In their 50-run victory U15 victory over Harrodian, Sam Holloway was top scorer for the boys’ side with 60 not out and Rishabh Madhok made a well-played 38. First XI cricket team regular and talented seam bowler Olivia Daniels, UVI debuted for Surrey Ladies CCC against Sussex CCC. U15 girls trounced Harrodian by 91 runs with Teddy Bascombe and Maddie Oakley batter and bowler of the match, respectively.

At a first post-lockdown athletics competition hosted by Claremont Fan Court School, IPS also competed against KCS, St Catherine’s and Ewell Castle. Skye Bishop, S8 won the 800m by an impressive distance while Bella Mallet, S8 won the girls’ shot putt. Second place finishes were achieved by Alice Maxwell and Zachary Brown, S8 (hurdles); James Dearey, S8 (discus); Aleksandar Borisov, S8 and Aisling Glanville, S8 (200m); Massimo Spada, S8 (shot putt) and Andrew Lorimer, S8 (300m).

Toby Cooper-Driver, S9 represented Great Britain at the World Acrobatics Championships in Geneva with his partner Anisa and won a Bronze medal. This outstandingly talented pair are members of the Richmond Gymnastics Association.

In the 1 st XI’s comprehensive win over John Lyon School, a superb bowling performance from Oliver Gaudoin saw five wickets tumble in his four overs at a cost of just nine runs. Brilliant! The 1 st XI scored a fantastic 140 run victory over St James’ with Tobias Ross making 83 not out and Max Palmer 52 not out in an impressive 200 run total.

Natasha Hymans and Grace Oldfield won the Coxed Quadruple Scull in the Chiswick Regatta. Beating teams from Latymer Upper School and Kew House in the heats, they went on to win the final against Emanuel and St Paul's Girls. A fantastic achievement!

In their Claremont Fan Court Athletics meet, Emma Brooks, S7 came 2 nd in the 200m and Emily Oldfield came 4 th in the 800m.
