matched the era as we chose the hit songs in each decade.We had established the idea of ‘Fashion Through Decades’ to correspond with our theme for this year’s TheWall : time. Beginning our decades with 1920s the pieces were inspired by works of Coco Chanel whose designs boomed during the decade, we wanted the pieces to carry the same fun, party essence and they certainly did.The models performed the Charlston and were an incredible recreation of the infamous 20s flapper girls. History ties in very tightly with fashion and this prevailed in our next decade of 50s; following the war glamour and pearls were the least of anyone's concerns as functionality had become far more important.

ments of ABBA definitely shone through in the outfits.The 70s were revolutionary for designer VivianeWestwood whom we wanted to commemorate with her recent passing. Followed by the 1980s we wanted to depict a larger variety in styles including outfits similar to ones styled for Princess Diana and neon, disco-inspired outfits. Despite the recent return of y2k trends we decided to give it its own section with double denim pieces and the return of low-rise it’s certainly a memorable decade. The circular nature of fashion shows how elements from the past prevail in the present and hopefully in the likes of the future.The section featured items such as baggy jeans which we see weaving in and out of current trends. In the present day, social media heavily influences fashion, and it is fascinating

to see how it goes from runway to the media and to our day-to-day lives.

For the future section, the looks were largely made up of metallics and various mediums such as industrial metal wiring which you wouldn’t usually find in high fashion.The outfit were the individual interpretations of the designers; this was an opportunity for them to freely create designs of their own imagination. one of many to come. It was an opportunity for the pupil body to come together to celebrate many talents not only in the creative aspects, but also in tech, lighting, sound, and backstage management.Watching the fashion show blossom from a single conversation to a full production had been incredible and we couldn’t be more proud of everyone involved in making it possible.
