Introducing Activities Week 2023
This year, Ibstock’s Activities Week brings together an exciting programme of talks, trips, workshops, sports activities, and performances, both on and off site. It is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the exam period being over, have fun with friends and try something new. From paintballing to pottery, there’s something for everyone. For our Upper Sixth leavers and alumni there is also the annual Stocks BBQ on Saturday 1 July. A relaxed afternoon of music and games in The Orchard, it is always a joyous event and an opportunity to connect with our wonderful alumni community.

Take the relaxing Uber Boat east from the London Eye to North Greenwich, enjoying a coffee and passing many famous sights on the way. Then buckle up for a fabulous climb on the roof of the O2 arena for a new perspective on our city and unforgettable views. Return via Jubilee line toWaterloo.
Time: 5:30pm - 6:30pm Location: Ballroom An exciting showcase of musical theatre performance, featuring performers who took part in the ‘Acting through Song’ masterclass earlier in the day.

Pottery Workshop Day 1: Spinning Time: 11:00am - 1:00pm, 2:00pm - 4:00pm Led by: Miss Hunter Location: School of Art Spend two days gaining experience in a variety of pottery techniques - including coiling, slab-building and throwing on the wheel. Pieces will be fired in our kiln and you will then spend a day decorating your work whilst learning more about the possibilities of glazes. Day one will be spent learning about key materials and equipment used in ceramics, before having a hands-on session making coiled sculptures, slab-built lanterns and a set of three mugs on the pottery wheel. Anything made during the workshop can be taken home afterwards.
Climbing is exhilarating and sociable – an extreme sport in a comfortable environment. It promises to be an ultimate post-exams stressbuster.

Cooking a curry is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser and easier than you might think. A fantastic way to socialise and impress your friends!
Explore the physical, technical, and psychological aspects of penalty-taking, and analyse archive footage of revered penalty maestros, before putting theory into practice.
Our Cricket Day involves a triangular Twenty20 tournament between FIPS, Ibstock Place Staff and the 1st XI. Over previous years, the days have proven highly competitive, offering up a good standard of cricket. This is a great way to finish the season - with music, a BBQ lunch, and an opportunity for the 1st XI to score some runs against the Staff and FIPS teams. Imaginary is a fun, quirky, and touching musical about growing up. The story follows two best friends starting at a new school - run by a despotic, evil genius headteacher - and charts the adventures they have, the challenges they overcome, and the friends – both imaginary and real – that they make.
Life Drawing
From terroir to Table Mountain, resident sommelier Mrs Bennett will elucidate everything you need to know and understand about South African wine.
Join the School of Art for a day of life drawing (sometimes known as figure drawing), the specialist skill of drawing people who are present in front of you in the art studio, usually posing without clothing. One of the purposes of life drawing is to gain an appreciation of anatomical proportions, and to be able to replicate them faithfully on the page. You will be joined by a specialist teacher who will instruct you on this important artistic skill. Not to be missed for aspiring artists! Day two will will allow you the opportunity to come back and decorate your pieces! You will work with a selection of different glazes and methods of application. Anything made during the workshop can be taken home afterwards.
A Sausage Symposium – the philosophy of sausages, and how to make your own! You will be provided with high quality ingredients and tutelage.
